A Plan of Action for Vivid Hair Salon & Spa has started to take new measures following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Vivid will always refer to the latest advice from the local government and local health authority. We want to take all possible steps to help you stay healthy.
Given the renewed focus on the health and public safety of beauty professionals and our clients, Vivid has started a Back-to-Work Plan which we plan to use to make everyone more comfortable when services resume. This plan incorporates best practices according to infection control experts and the advice and rules of Massachusetts board of Cosmetology safety precautions. It is important that best practices be followed for the health of professionals and clients.
Some of the many measures Vivid plans to take are as follows:
~Limit people in the salon. We will consider seeing clients by appointment only. Vivid will also consider telephonic or online scheduling. Limit the number of persons in the waiting area of the salon. It is recommended that clients wait outside the salon in their vehicle until the cosmetologist is ready to serve them. It is recommended that persons not being serviced in the salon wait outside the salon.
~Use of Personal Protective Equipment and Best Practices: Vivid employees will be required to wear masks at all times. The salon may want to consider providing masks to clients. Clients should wear face masks to the extent possible while receiving services. Vivid should also make use of masks, gloves, disposable or re-washable capes, smocks, neck strips, etc. These items should be disinfected or disposed of between each client. Employees will arrive at the salon showered and wearing clean clothing and change clothes before leaving the salon each day. Hand washing with soap and warm water, for a minimum of 20 seconds will be required by employees between every client service.
~We advise our staff and guests to up hygiene in the salon and home. Keeping our work environment and tools clean comes naturally to trained hair and beauty professionals. The staff at Vivid Hair Salon & Spa has all been re-certified in the Barbicide Certification. This demonstrates our dedication to providing safe service in the salon and spa by becoming Barbicide Certified.
~Prevention is key to reducing the spread of germs and viruses. When it comes to the salon surfaces, we ensure you that we will have highly effective cleaning agents to hand, such as a bleach with sodium hypochlorite to keep areas clean.
~Avoiding the exchange of cash can help in preventing the spread of the virus, but if this is unavoidable, be sure to wash and sanitize hands well after each transaction. The use of credit/debit transactions is preferred, using touch/swipe/no signature technology.
~Vivid will remove germs from commonly touched surfaces.
Please observe your family and we will our staff for common cold symptoms such as a runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, fever, or a general feeling of being unwell. We advise you not to enter the salon if you or a family member has one of these conditions.
~Screening Questions: Ask each client entering the shop the following questions - Have you had a cough? Have you had a fever? Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days? Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined? Please take hand sanitizer with you when you’re out and about, preferably one with a high alcohol content (min 69%). Apply regularly, covering all surfaces of your hands, and we ask our clients to do the same when traveling to the salon. We ensure that proper hand washing with soap is a priority. We will make sure to have cleansing and nourishing hand soaps in the salon. Although as time passes we may start to add new procedures, please note we will do our best to keep your safety first!
Although sanitation and a clean environment are important for a range of reasons and regulations, it’s never been so critical to protect our guests. The salon industry is based on a personal approach and inevitably requires close contact with our clients, that’s why we are taking a better safe than sorry approach.
Precaution for Vivid guests is the name of the game to keep you all healthy and looking beautiful!
We look forward to seeing you in the near future,
Basia Belz (Owner) & Staff
